Motivation

1. I am in the education program becasue as a teacher I want to share the passion that I have for Dance with the students that I teach. I decided a while ago that I love teaching, I love seeing when one of my students understands what I am talking about. When they can express to me what they are feeling through the movement of dance. What I love about the art form of dance is that dancing serves as a form of release for anyone. the reason that I want to teach in the high schools is becasue dance can help the students get out of thier box and share a different side of them. To help them share an artistic side of them rather then always being in academic mode. I am in this class becasue it is apart of the program, and it will help better understand how I can teach my studetns about the art form of dance.

2. I feel like what motivates me is knowing what Is going to happen at the end of the journey. I am in school becasue I want to get my degree and to be a teacher and have a job. I am a very extrinsic learner and that is what motivates me. I like to know what I am getting out of what I am doing. I highly beleive in goal theoy. I like to set goals and making sure that i fallow that and acheive them. When i am focused on a goal, i am inthe zone and i work hard to make sure that i understand what i need to in order to acheive that goal. I love learning and knowledge is power.

3.I like to control how and what i succeed in. I compare myself to others that are doing the same thing as me. In dance it is very hard to not do that. I like to push myself and try to better then the others in my class. I like to feed off the others in my class and do my best. So my cause to succeed is internal. I have something in me to do well and to show others what I can do. I fail because i underestimate myself. I set myself up to fail. I tell myelf that i am good enough or that i can not do something. I find attribution theory very real for me. When things go well for me i tell my self it is becaue of my abilities and that i did it. However when i fail i find myself sometimes saying that i didnt have contol over the situation.

4. My goals are both mastery amd performance goals. My goals focus on something that is important and also to be able to see an end result. To focus on something to acheive an end product becuase of the goals that i have set. I think that this says that I am a hard worker. That I want to be able to succeed in life and teaching.

5. I need to change what and how i get moticated to learn. Becasue if i want my studetns to be motivated and learn in a way that will help them in all areas of thier eduation then i need to know how to do that as well. i need to be more open minded on my success and failures. I need to take away a learning experience from everything that i do. Know how to set goals in a way that i can see the outcomes, and what other goals i can do to lead the main goals. So that i can clearly do that in my class room to elpmy students succeed.
